Finding His lap and His heartbeat

How many times in your life do you seek for a better day, a brighter tomorrow or just a resolved situation? Often in the past few months during this lockdown I’ve been waking up everyday hoping that the day would not require a mask, sanitizer or social distancing. There is a woman in the Bible who was looking for something new and fresh in her life. It was the result of a choice that she was in fact living through. Her own choices were not giving her enough happiness.

The woman with the Alabaster Jar of perfume

Luke 7:37-38

“A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

Because she did this the people around her disagreed and disliked what she was doing. Her faith to trust in the love she saw coming from Jesus, helped her endure this process from the people.

Yet in Verse 50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Don’t waste the process. Let it be used for Gods purpose.

Some of us are going through a situation in our lives that we don’t understand WHY it’s happening. Some situations are done to us. Some situations we have created ourselves, and some situations just happen. Like a pandemic

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

This is my advice to us today. Find Jesus in your situation. When we are His children then He promises to never leave or forsake us. When you seek him you will find him and that will take you to your purpose in Christ. This will always result in us Finding His heartbeat that beats with love for us.
